1 Corinthians

Tyndale New Testament Commentaries
The cosmopolitan city of Corinth was the site of one of the apostle Paul's greatest evangelistic successes. However, the church he founded was full of contention, ranging from questions about leadership to incest. Some Christians were taking fellow believers to court. There were issues concerning marriage, celibacy, food offered to idols, public worship, and spiritual gifts. In response, Paul offered some of his most profound thinking on the body of Christ, love, and Jesus' cross and resurrection. In this Tyndale commentary Thomas Schreiner explains the text of the letter, highlights its major theological themes, and points to its relevance for today.

This was an amazing in depth read on not only the letter to the Corinthians but the culture that surrounded the city giving more insight and context to Paul's words. This book gave me a 360 view on the church of Corinth and the city itself.

The reading is a commentary in the book of first Corinthians that can help assist the reader in understanding Biblical text, and avoiding misunderstandings about the Bible, Bible passages, and themes by checking your own interpretation against pastors, Bible students, and church leaders.

The commentary of the 1 Corinth church by Thomas R Schreiner is Very Good. It has alot of biblical text how it broke it down chapter by chapter easy to understand and very helpful. Into what the Corinth church was facing . I really enjoyed it.
